Job Description

1. Responsible for running the factory, handling day to day overall production planning, production activity, quality control, manpower management, on time; deliveries and cost of production, qualitative and quantity output, statutory Compliance;
2. Ensure best utilization of skills, machines and manpower;
3. Prepare and implement daily, weekly , monthly production/process plans for and sub-contractors (SC’s) and co-ordinate production activities with other departments (merchandising, technical, design, procurement, HR, warehousing, logistics) and SC’s;
4. Troubleshoot- use technical skills and experience to solve any problems which may arise during production both in and at SC’s;
5. Monitor the production processes to make sure that they runs smoothly, adjust schedules as needed, motivate and control the work force in accordance with requirements;
6. Set up and monitor product standards, examine production samples, conduct tests if necessary to ensure finished products conform to customer quality and safety standards;
7. Control and monitor production staff, organize staff selection, training, development and deployment;
8. Recommend and implement initiatives such as improvements of production processes, new techniques and products, purchases of new machinery and changes in staff levels;
9. Ensure all machines and equipment are properly and regularly maintained by professional technicians;
10. Participate in the HSE committee and ensure all production units comply with HSE, Environment and Quality policies and procedures;
11. Select and approve SC’s (with heads of technical and merchandising departments) which meet our technical, HSE and social standards;
12. Manage, motivate and train the in-house and external QC teams;
13. Attend Monday morning production review meeting with QC/sampling/planning and merchandising teams to finalize tech packs, production program and QC visit schedule;
14. Agree visit program, tech issues and AQL requirements with each member of QC team;
15. Ensure that QC team and Sub Contractors (SC) have approved pre-production sample and tech pack;
16. Immediately advise merchandisers and production staff of any quality problems during production or any issues which may delay production;
17. Ensure QC staff send daily factory inspection reports for your attention/action;
18. Ensure QC staff are present at sub-contractors during key stages of production and final inspection;
19. Ensure QC team send CORRECT gold seal sample to technical department and make sure that this sample is representative of production;
20. Ensure QC team carry out all final inspections and complete final inspection report;
21. Arrange inspection by independent auditors if required by customer (SGS etc);
22. Work closely with merchandisers and SC’s to ensure timing of final inspection conforms with critical path requirements;
23. If there are any quality incidents make sure that QI form is completed within 24 hours and a meeting is held to agree corrective actions;
24. To observe whether SC’s are following our ethical standards (no under age workers, no forced labor, healthy, comfortable and safe working conditions) and advise management and HR department if this is not the case.

Experience and expertise
• Bachelor Degree
• At least 5 years of working experience in the related field
• Preferably managers specializing in Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent
• Production or Factory experience required
• Technical background
• Good English language skills
• Computer competence (Microsoft Office)
• Good communication / interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under high pressure, ability to work in group and independently
• Able to work to tight time scales.
• Strong management skill and people relation skill
