Hydraulic Design Engineer
NIC’s Client is an engineering company specializing in the design and manufacturing of medium- to large-scale industrial equipment incorporating hydraulic and electrical systems.
For major components such as hydraulic cylinders, cranes, and hydraulic power units, they work closely with specialized vendors. However, their engineers do far more than simply purchase and integrate these products. They are responsible for defining detailed technical specifications based on equipment requirements, understanding the capabilities and limitations of vendor products, and leading customization, technical reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
While their primary applications are in marine equipment, the core competencies required are highly transferable from industries such as industrial machinery, land-based plants, factory facilities, heavy equipment, and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hydraulic systems including cylinders, cranes, and hydraulic power units (HPUs)
- Review and engineer hydraulic specifications for project-specific equipment
- Coordinate technically with hydraulic cylinder, crane, and heavy equipment vendors and define detailed specifications
- Perform load, operating pressure, and stroke calculations, and select appropriate components
- Support equipment testing and on-site troubleshooting
- Collaborate with electrical control engineers and the Singapore headquarters to coordinate project engineering activities
Required skills
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in hydraulic/mechanical system design
- Experience working with hydraulic cylinder, crane, or heavy equipment vendors on technical discussions and specification development
- English proficiency is optional
- Candidates must be able to work in Vietnamese
- Experience with hydraulic systems for land-based plants or factory facilities
- Understanding of electrical control systems and ability to collaborate effectively with electrical engineers
- Strong troubleshooting skills, project leadership experience, and willingness to travel
- Marine or shipbuilding experience is not required. English proficiency is optional, and candidates must be able to work in Vietnamese.
Benefit
– Basic salary: 38,000,000 – 58,000,000 VND (negotiable depending on experience);
